Mission
Universum: Philology and Art Criticism is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal that brings together researchers in the fields of philology and art criticism from Russia, the CIS, and abroad.
The journal's mission is to promote the development of science and the dissemination of reliable scientific knowledge by providing open access to the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of linguistics, literary studies, the theory and history of art, cultural heritage, and related humanities.
Objectives of the journal
- publication of original scientific research of theoretical and practical significance in the field of philology and art history;
- ensuring independent expert evaluation of manuscripts through double-blind peer review;
- support for philological and art history research schools, young humanities researchers and postgraduate students;
- integration of authors from Russia, CIS countries and abroad into international scientific communication;
- compliance with international standards of publication ethics (COPE).
The editorial board supports both classical philological and art historical research, as well as work at the intersection of the humanities and digital methods.
Indexing and standards
The journal is indexed in the scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.RU, Google Scholar, and international periodical directories. Research articles are assigned a DOI. Metadata is published in Russian and English.
The journal's editorial policy is based on the principles of openness, independence of expert evaluation, and academic integrity.
