ABSTRACT

The article gives an expanded definition of the concept of «project», notes the importance of project activities in the process of teaching mathematics. Also, the author analyzes the experience of mathematics teachers in the implementation of project activities after school hours. The article defines the current areas of work on the implementation of the project method, formulates the conclusion.

АННОТАЦИЯ

В статьё даётся расширенное определение понятия «проект», отмечается значимость проектной деятельности в процессе обучения математике. Также, автор анализирует опыт работы учителей математики по реализации проектной деятельности во внеурочное время. В статье определяются актуальные направления работы по реализации метода проектов, формулируется вывод.

At the current stage of pedagogic development, the question of finding means for teaching schoolchildren mathematics is acute. One of the effective means is project activity. In the school system, the project method is quite popular today. Before we proceed to the analysis of pedagogical experience on the issue of implementation of the project method, let's consider the definition of the very concept "project".

According to different dictionaries, "project" has the following definitions.

1) developed plan of construction, construction, manufacture or reconstruction of something;

2) preliminary, tentative text of any document [3];

3) plan, design, intention;

4) independent activity, carried out with the aim of obtaining personal benefit, income [2].

Project activity is used by mathematics teachers not only in the classroom system, but also in extracurricular ones. In particular, this is due to the fact that extracurricular activities imply greater freedom of action. starting from the stages of construction of classes and ending with the specifics of the project itself. We will analyze the activities of teachers of mathematics and consider projects.

Teacher M.A. Gavrilova notes that many years of experience allowed her to identify such areas of project activity:

  1. special training in search methods;
  2. special training in the process and culture of collective discussion;
  3. formation of self-esteem culture;
  4. formation of culture of public speaking, protection of obtained results [4].

We also studied the experience of E.A. Adarichevoy. The teacher notes that the realization of the project activity in extracurricular time is due to the possibility of integration of mathematical knowledge and other sciences. So, we studied the teacher's project under the name "Autotransport and air of the city".

This project is aimed at carrying out research, in which it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge not only in mathematics, but also in biology and ecology. As part of the implementation of the project, schoolchildren studied the transport load of the city, the amount of harmful substances (into the atmosphere). As a result of the implementation of the project, the children put forward proposals to improve the ecological situation [1].

For work on the project "Mathematics +" О.В. Simonova, it was also necessary for children to use knowledge not only of mathematics, but also of:

  1. Russian language;
  2. Biology;
  3. History;
  4. Literature.

The extracurricular project itself had a game form. An interesting form of work during the implementation of this project was the task - children had to disrupt the study plan and present it to their classmates. Then, having studied the project plan of other children, determine what stages are missing [6].

The specifics of the organization of project activity in mathematics in extracurricular activities, according to I.A. Kozharovoy, such that the product of the project can literally be anything. Undoubtedly, in the process of work, mathematical concepts, calculation skills, etc. must be used, but the result can be creative - a layout, a book, etc. An example of such a creative project is presented by the teacher with the topic "The height of the mountain and the speed of the train" [5].

Thus, project activity is a popular and effective method in the work of studying mathematics. In extracurricular activities in mathematics, the project method allows you to integrate knowledge from various scientific fields, combine mathematics and creativity.

A positive attitude towards mathematics is formed among schoolchildren because of the more "free" organization of project activity (in contrast to the lesson system). Students' motivation to study mathematics increases, search skills are formed, communicative and speaking skills are developed, thinking becomes more logical and scientific.
